Signals: The race
committee will conduct a pursuit race.
Every boat will have its own start time.
One modification is the start will be based on a horn, not a flag. Every start will have its own horn. The race committee will start racers based on
GPS time. If there is a delay, adjust
start time based on the delay time. The
first boat will start 5 minutes after the first warning horn. The first warning horn is at 1400. The first start is at 1405.
Time limit: 2.5
hrs
Awards: The
wining boat will be awarded the Harry Young Cup for one year. Plaques will be awarded for the 1st,
2nd and 3rd place boats.
Social: The NPSA
Officers will sponsor a social raft up after the race just inside Jones Creek. If you draw 6 feet or less there should be no
issue getting into and anchoring in the Creek. The Officers highly recommend all boats stay
well clear of the lighted day mark “1” at the entrance for the channel to Jones
Creek. There is an underwater
obstruction adjacent to the mark. Please
contact the Race Committee Chairman if you would like to join the social and
draw more than 6 feet. The club will
provide tender service for those boats that must anchor in Old Road Bay. The club officers request that everyone wear
a masks and maintain social distancing guidelines to the best of their ability. Food options will be provided in a separate e-mail. Young’s Boat Yard will provide a free slip
for boats that wish to stay the night.
Please let the Race Committee chair know if you wish to stay at Young’s
overnight so he can inform the yard owner.
Protests: Immediately
following the race contact the Race Committee Chair with any infractions on the
water. The Race Committee Chair would
like for all racers to note that NPSA tries very hard to keep the “fun” in
racing. Everyone is expected to follow
the rules of U.S. Sailing to the best of their ability. Aggressive tactics or maneuvers, whether
within the rules or not, will be highly frowned upon.
